Serious men is a satirical comedy, based on a book of the same name by Manu Joseph. It is about Ayyan Mani, a middle aged working man, who lives in a slum with his wife and son and is furious at his situation in life. He devises a plan and makes his 10 year old son pose as a science genius, however this outrageous lie soon gets out of control.

We worked closely with writers Manu Joseph, Bhavesh Mandalia and Sudhir Mishra to come up with visual design and dialogues for the title sequence. As we developed the idea more, we started adding more elements of humor here, like dictionaries and heavy usage of big words in an obviously wrong way. Apart from the typography and dialogues, we handled the direction duties as well for this segment. Core of the idea here was to showcase,through the story of the sequence, Ayyan's constant need to himself become a “Serious Man”.
